General information about B17
B17 is abundantly available in the natural world and is easily distinguished by its bitter taste. B-17 is present in all the fruit pips and kernels. This substance was discovered in the early 1800’s and was documented as a type of medicine for cancer treatment and other afflictions. B17 in its natural form was used as traditional medicine by many cultures in the world. In fact, it was a part of the daily diet for ancient people and was renowned for its ability to build body immunity. Fruit kernels and pips were ground and used as additives for regular food during ancient times.
During recent times, B-17 has become a topic of intense debate for its professed qualities in curing and preventing cancer. In the recent past, B17 or otherwise called amygdalin was an accepted medicine for cancer. However, during recent times, the FDA and other regulatory bodies in the world have rejected the cancer fighting abilities of B-17 and have in fact banned it from formal prescription. B17 is found to cause cyanide poisoning symptoms, if ingested in large quantities and so, the regulators justify this move. But, B17 experts argue that anything taken in excess is bound to cause side effects and B-17 is no different. In fact, the contend saying that B17 is a natural, cheap and effective cure for cancer, when taken in moderation and as a part of the treatment procedure.

Risks of Vitamin B17
Althought Vitamin B-17 drew worldwide attention as a miracle cancer treatment, it has risks of serious side effects. Study conducted on 1982 by Dr. Charles Moertel of the Mayo Clinic declared vitamin B17 is “a toxic drug that isn’t effective as a cancer treatment.” Here are the main side effects risks in taking vitamin b17-
Vomiting- the body recognizes vitamin B-17 as a toxin that could cause damage to vital organs and tries to get rid of it.
Hypotension- in the metabolism process of vitamin B-7, a chemical compound called thiocyanate is released. This chemical compound can depress the circulatory system, and result in hypotension or low blood pressure.
Seizures- Vitamin B-17 depletes the oxygen from hemoglobin molecule and therefore increasing the risk for seizures.
Peripheral Neuropathy-Vitamin B-17 can increase the risk of peripheral neuropathy. However, once the body is rid of vitamin B17, it can usually be reversed.
Coma- in rare cases, depletion of oxygen from brain cells can cause a coma.
